John LePage, a
San Franciscan with the sensibility of his native Canada, is one of those rare
DJ's who can extract those inner and outer influences of diversity to take his
refined sound and cross-over appeal to the next level. Born in Toronto and
educated in Montreal, LePage cut his teeth on the scene in such iconic clubs as
Kox and Sky. After a few stints in Montreal, LePage moved to New York City where
he began to develop his resume, immediately becoming a resident DJ at Splash. He
then hit the road spinning Black and Blue in Montreal, Miami’s White and Winter
Parties, all while keeping people on the dance floors at clubs in Denver,
Dallas, Boston and Philadelphia. In 2004, LePage moved to San Francisco, playing
parties like Sanctuary, Sweat, Northern Exposure in Seattle, Beef Dip in Puerto
Vallarta, and the Onyx Ball in Toronto, Canada. He currently spins regularly in
San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego & Provincetown.
Debby Holiday
broke onto the dance scene with her Top 5 Billboard summer anthem Dive in 2004.
Holiday followed the smash hit Dive with her power ballad Half A Mile Away,
which shot into the Billboard Top 10, along with Debby's follow-up dance hit
Bring It On. Her next four dance singles, Piece of My Love & Surrender Me (with
Tony Moran), Joyful Sound and Party Round the World (with Jason Dottley) all
went Top 20. Debby Holiday's other recent projects include singing the title
track to Courteney Cox's FX Network television series Dirt, a role in a national
Sprint television commercial, and looping on the musical feature film Dreamgirls,
with Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson. Holiday continues to pump up the volume on
the dance floors, live with her rock/soul band, and on television, with several
recent placements including NBC’s The Office, FX Networks Dirt, Showtime’s hit
The L Word and MTV’s Pick Up Artist. Queer As Folk another Showtime hit, used
two of Debby’s tracks including Dive & Half A Mile Away in their episodic
finale. Joyful Sound was featured in this past season’s hit LOGO show Sordid
Lives: The Series, from writer/director/producer Del Shores, and starring Olivia
Newton John. Debby Holiday has worked with a wide range of today's top
songwriters including Jeffrey Steele, Al Anderson, Marty Frederikson, Billy
Steinberg, Erik Bazillian and Clif Magness (Avril Lavigne). Live club
performances include appearances at Mardi Gras (Sydney, Australia), One Mighty
Asia (Bangkok, Thailand), U.S. Embassy (Tiblisi, Republic of Georgia), White
Party (Miami, FL), Alegria (NYC, NY), The Mayan (Los Angeles), Mezzanine (San
Francisco), SBNY (NYC), Factory (Los Angeles), Coliseum (Ft. Lauderdale), Avalon
(Hollywood), Montage (San Diego), Seattle Pride, San Diego Pride & South
Carolina Pride.
Key To Your
Soul will be available on Groove Records at Beatport.com and Itunes and is
executive produced by John LePage. Promotions supporting Key To Your Soul
include both national club & radio play, plus live club appearances by John &
Debby.

San Francisco DJ John LePage Keeps the Dance Floor Happy
"John LePage may
not be a household name quite yet. But in 16 years behind the decks, this
DJ-producer living in San Francisco has honed his craft of spinning happy music
for happy dancers. Originally from Toronto and educated in Montreal as an
accountant, this sexy Canadian is tall, fit, muscular, a bit shy and reserved,
with an ear for music and eye candy to his fans."

Review by Jim "Juicy Fruit" Hauck, The Juice Box (July

A staple of the San Francisco’s
dance scene, John’s music can sometimes be branded as standard circuit with a
side of meat, but his Independence set was more than a run of typical tracks.
The floor was jammed for most of the night with folks who were built up and up
and up by heavy beats and storming vocals that were unrelenting.

"Inside the club
we were greeted by a music set from DJ John Le Page that I would say was
probably one of the best I have ever heard him spin. The depth of the
music made me happy that I had missed Fresh and I was right now getting a dose
of T-Dance before hitting the darker beats later in the evening.
John did not disappoint through the entire night with great vocals, harder
driving tracks and some really amazing mixtures of sounds and textures. I
was in heaven for the first half of the night."

"Thankfully at
midnight, DJ John LePage took the helm and drove us to a higher place on the
dance floor, with a mix of chunky fun beats and some anthems to keep you smiling
and your toes tapping. John’s set kept many of the bears at the party to
the very end, including yours truly, to enjoy what I feel was some of the best
DJ work I have heard from John."

“When
I got there, John Le Page was dropping the tracks, and he was NOT f*cking around
with the music! Boy was he dropping the bombs! I have to give him props for
that, though he's different style from Andy Almighty, he had the BEST music of
the night! Amazing tracks, excellent remixes, that as the night kept on going
(and don't forget about the rain), the club was getting more packed by the
minute! the 2 rooms downstairs were packed, and the upstairs was filling up
quickly. John kept dropping the tracks, towards 1 AM he started going darker,
and adding more rough circuit tracks. People (and myself) were LOVING IT!.” |
